Services Software Package for Hotel Industry: |

This application handled the relocation
of employees and new hires for a major hotel chain. It
also processed transportation, travel, and other expenses
for the employees. Complex file transfer and data transformation
procedures were used to communicate with the Legacy Accounting
System. |

It kept track of handling household
goods and transportation. |
|
The application also handled real estate
services, including the sale and purchase of houses, on
behalf of the employees. It kept track of the status of
the real estate processess and generated various reports
and filings as required by law. It tracked inspections,
appointment of real estate agents, inventory management,
and assisted employees in finding temporary rental housing. |

Tax liability was calculated at the
federal, state, and local level for employees when taxable
relocation benefits were extended to them. |
|
Processes for monitoring the performance
of vendors such as moving companies, van lines, travel
agencies, and inspection agents were included in the application.
Also included was a system to process payments for the
services rendered. |

Surveys were processed for customer
satisfaction and business process improvements. |
|
This application was developed using
MS Access as the front-end for GUI interfaces, and Oracle
for the back end database. The application was run on
a Citrix server. |

and Proposal package for an Oil Company: |
|
This application was developed for use
by the sales staff of a major oil company for selling
marine lubricants. |
|
The application used complex pricing
formulas for ships picking up lube oils at various ports
worldwide. It generated a report that analyzed profitability
of the proposal based on prices and discounts approved
at the submission of the proposal. The system used version
control methodology to connect to the correct pricing
patterns that were released every month. |
|
The processing engine of this application
allowed parametric values to be stored. With the correct
version of pricing patterns and data stored for a proposal,
the engine could regenerate the same report correctly
whenever the data was processed. This allowed for a compact
and efficient database. |

This application was developed using
MS Access for the front-end GUI, and for storing sales
proposal data. |
