Our client needed a complete IT solution,
and wanted web presence that was hosted on site with 99.99
percent availability. |
 |
The client installed a partial T1 pipe.
All internal IT solutions were provided by DSI. |
 |
DSI designed an internal network based
on Microsoft Windows 2000. The client has Microsoft Domain
Windows 2000 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server for e-mail,
SQL Server 2000 for database applications, SQL Analysis
Server for OLAP solutions for clients, Microsoft's ISS
Server for Web applications, a Router Firewall, Enterprise
level virus protection, Enterprise level faxing facilities
with IT backup and a disaster recovery policy. |
 |
DSI designed a network based on two
servers with hot swap and RAID 5 capability. The associates
use computers running Windows XP Professional. |
 |
DSI set up Windows 2000 domain server,
Exchange Server, and SQL Server with an analysis server
behind a corporate firewall. We installed a backup utility
that automatically allows for backups and set up a disaster
recovery policy. We also installed a virus protection
program at Enterprise level that updates automatically.
Thus, associates don't have to worry about latest virus
protection updates. Web browsing and e-mails are scanned
for viruses. |
 |
Associates can access e-mail and files
through secure VPN connections over the Internet. |
 |
DSI maintains and monitors the network
through secure remote access. |
 |
DSI designed OLAP services, and developed
an application that allows customers to get files and
information via e-mail, fax, regular mail and the web.
Similarly, clients can send files by dropping them on
the web site or they can use ftp services in addition
to e-mailing attachments and mailing data on disks. |
 |
The Network was designed using the Windows
2000 Operating system and is fully operational. The application
was designed using SQL Server, Visual basic, Access, ASP
pages and COM objects. |
